It’s extremely important to us that Slackfest is an accessible event for anyone who wants to attend. Here are a few of the things we are doing to make the event more accessible for everyone.
Tickets:
Carers tickets are available (one free adult ticket per paying dependent), please email info@worldjugglingday.uk to organise or speak to us at the info desk when you arrive.
Site:
All toilets marked on our map include an accessible toilet. There are 4 accessible toilets in total, two of these are portaloos and two are within the permanent toilet block behind the info desk. One of the toilets in the permanent block is a hoist-equipped toilet which requires a radar key to access (we will have a key at the info point).
Accessible parking spaces are available in the main car park. These are payable via the local ticket machine and provide a hardstanding route directly to the accessible camping area. If these are not available on your arrival, we can organise a drop off and to relocate your car once the main park closes if that is required.
Accessible camping area – we have a section of the field set aside which is closer to event activities and another area next to the toilets. Kindly note that here is no option to have your car next to your tent. Please let us know if you intend to use these areas so that we can coordinate with you appropriately and reserve space.
Volunteers will be available to help transport your kit from the car park to the camping area if needed. Please ask the parking volunteer (in a high vis jacket) or at the info desk if you would like help. You can also use the tarmacked public car park as a drop off point if needed (however please do not park there for the duration of the event).
Although the permanent toilets on site are gendered, the portable toilets on the field will be gender neutral.
Swimming pool:
There are concrete steps with handrails to access the shallow end of the pool, and two ladders to enter the deep end.
There is no hoist system available.
Depth of the water: Shallow end = just over 1m, deep end = just over 2m.
As this is an outdoor pool, the water is much cooler than an indoor pool. We advise people enter the shallow end first.
Food Vendors:
The Curry Den Kebabs
Friday 5pm - 11pm
Vegetarian options include quorn & halloumi. Gluten free option is served as a salad box
Just for You – Fish & Chips
Saturday 5pm - 11pm
They offer a vegetarian option [LL4] of a cheese and onion fry it.
Fully gluten free cannot be guaranteed as they rotate their pans (sausages/fish won’t be cooked at the same time as chips but they will have been in the pan at some point).
Stone Baked with Love - Pizza

Vegetarian topping choices available, vegan cheese is not available. Apologies no gluten free bases either.

Shows will contain trigger warnings (let us know of any specific triggers you want us to be aware of)
Feel free to bring your own seating or camping chair to the show. Chairs will not generally be provided however we will have a couple of seats available if needed on the day – speak to someone at the info desk to arrange this.
Workshops:
Online workshop timetable available prior to, and during, the event (use ‘list view’ is you are using a screen reader).
Colour coded timetable alongside symbols to help you easily filter and identify the workshops you are interested in.
Other:
The site is dog friendly.
Notes:
This is not a comprehensive list but will hopefully give you some idea of what you can expect from our event. If there’s something you need that’s not on the list, get in touch to let us know and we’ll do our best to help. We also have an accessibility lead who you can contact at info@worldjugglingday.uk if you have any questions.
When you purchase a ticket, there is an opportunity to tell us what accessibility needs you have – let us know the things we can do to make the event easier for you to attend and enjoy. Telling us what you might need in advance lets our team be as prepared as possible.
